Liam Purcell is a multi-instrumentalist from the San Francisco Bay in California. His musical journey started when his parents put him in drum lessons at age three. He soon found his passion at the piano when he started two years later. In the coming years, he slowly became more and more captivated by the instrument. When he was in sixth grade, he asked his band teacher if he could play piano instead of the saxophone, to which he received a swift “no”. After composing in alternative orchestral and low-fidelity hip hop, in May of 2022, he celebrated ten years of playing the piano by releasing his first piano composition “From 2012”, featuring a collage of pictures of him at the piano as a child. Today, he continues writing for piano, but also conveys interest in instrumental pop pieces, and possibly a return to low-fidelity hip hop.
